LGMS characteristics and procedure

LGMS is a no-contact measuring system working trough an optical base, and able to measurement of Run Out fault and flying circle diameter of the cutting edges at a clamped tool rotating at operation speed on tool machine.

Through the rotating system it’s possible to find the real faults which a removal of chips survey, LGMS1 can be use not only in a machine tool, but as a real automatic measuring system, able to use during production start up procedure or after a tool change in order to have an important tool control for a better production quality.

Elements of the measuring device

The scanning head is installed in the machine tool, the measuring system is fitted by a light barrier with a focused ray and high frequency switching, composed by a laser diode and a focusing optic and photodetector, as you can see in Fig.1. The tool motion system used during the measurement it’s the same to production, so the machine mechanical errors don’t have any influence in the measure.A electrical board receive the LGMS1 measured and it can easy interface with CNC, LGMS1 is specifically designed to be integrated with Sieb&Mayer 44.20.020, 44.20.020A and 44.20.0120, laser cards used in PCB drilling machine.
